The Way CommunityThe Way Community meets at Cicero Christian Church on Mondays & Thursdays from 9:30 am
to 2:00 pm. As a participant, caregiver or volunteer, you will take part in a variety of activities including cooking, gardening, crafts, learning, games, and more. And it's a free program -- simply bring a sack lunch and a positive attitude! |

A new year - a new name
In 2011, at The Way we began to make our days more active and intentional. The introduction of the stations in the morning and the group activities in the afternoon helped us work together better and kept us moving. These have been good changes! Hopefully in 2012 we can find new ways to make our days together more fun and exciting for everyone.
As I have observed us working together, playing together and helping each other it occurred to me, this is not a program but a community. The Way is a place where everyone belongs and we can all find friendship and purpose. We work together, make things to help and honor others, learn together and share our meals together. We also lift each other up in prayer.
So starting this year we propose to change our name from The Way Day Program to The Way Community. That may seem like a small change, but it is really quite large. The new name is more descriptive of who we are and why we are here. Sure, the things we do will look much like a program, but the way we do things and the way we care for each other makes us a community. We hope this is true for each of you.
When you see The Way Community, you will know it is the day program, where everyone belongs.
